    “Cinderella, It’s not midnight……”

This will be my last post about my debut! :) It’s a three minute highlights video shot by 11:11 Productions and edited by Miko Ancheta of 11:11 productions. I think they captured the highlights of my special day wonderfully! I have nothing more to say so I’ll just let the video speak for itself. ;)

The photo on the cover of this post was taken by Kara Chung! :)

Review: Etude House OMG! Dry Shampoo

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

FINALLY. Dry shampoo has arrived at Philippine Shores! The first time I heard about the existence of dry shampoos is in one of the many beauty related videos that I’ve seen in Youtube. I was so amazed by the idea of dry shampoos so the moment I saw that Etude House was selling dry shampoos, I immediately picked one up!

    Product

A lot of you may be wondering what exactly a dry shampoo is. A dry shampoo is supposed to be a hair product that you can use on-the-go. It’s a convenient product that cleanses the oil and dirt away from your hair by absorbing them. Oh, and you don’t have to use water! ;) This dry shampoo comes in a matte pink aerosol bottle and contains 50 ml worth of product and costs P448 a bottle.

    What I Love

    • It has a fruity floral scent which is lovely! It’s not harsh and overpowering at all!
    • The packaging is really cute! ( I wish they had some english phrases though!)
    • Small and easy to carry around.
    • Effectively freshens up my hair by removing the dirt and making my hair smell fruity and flowery all throughout the day.
    • It works right away!

    What I don’t like

    • The “Oh my Go*” caption. HAHA. I wish it was something like, “OH MY GOSH”. This issue may be something that bothers only me though!
    • I find it quite expensive because 50ml is such a small amount of product! I’ve been afraid to use it because it’s so expensive. haha.

    Directions

    1. position the bottle 15-20cm away from your head
    2. spray all over your hair
    3. comb through you hair
    4. all done! ;)

    Recommendations

This product is absolutely genius! This is perfect for girls who have really oily hair, or those who are super lazy to wash their hair in the morning. I also think this product is very convenient to use after going to the gym, or after P.E. class! Althought I love this product, I would not recommend this replace the actual shampoo just because I don’t think it cleans the hair as well as shampoos do! This is comparable to a hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizers should only be used when there is no fresh water and soap available to to wash hands. Also, I think it would be too expensive to use this daily as a replacement to the actual shampoo. :) I would repurchase it because I only use it wisely and very sparingly. That, and I really LOVE how CONVENIENT this is!

Review: Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips Talk Lipstick

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’ve always been and will always be a lippie girl! I love lipsticks more than lipglosses! I barely use lip glosses, actually. The first thing I checked out in the Etude House store was the lipsticks! I started swatching the shades and ended up picking up two lippies. I actually wanted to get one more but I had to restrict myself! ha ha. The first one that I’ll be reviewing is the BE101.

    The Product

It’s just like any other lipstick enclosed in a plastic case. It doesn’t say in the box how much the actual weight of the product is but it’s net weight (weight including the packaging) is 3.4g. A MAC lipstick’s net weight is twice of this Etude House Lipstick. I don’t mind though because it’s cost is around half of a mac lipstick’s: PHP 478

    What I Love:

    • The packaging is very cute.
    • BE101 has a GORGEOUS lips but better shade! I haven’t been wearing lipsticks lately because I realized how nice my lips look even with just a small amount of lip balm. However, this has such a gorgeous nude shade and it makes me wanna start wearing lipsticks more often!
    • The nude shade doesn’t make me look pale or washed out at all.
    • The heart carving on the lipstick is divine! The carving reminds me of some high-end lipsticks like Burberry which have carvings as well.
    • It’s incredibly moisturizing on my lips.

    What I don’t like:

      • I noticed that the whole product feels very light and it’s casing doesn’t feel as sturdy as other lipsticks.
      • It doesn’t last as long as other lipsticks as well. It lasted around 3-4 hours on me.
    Swatches

    Final Recommendations

I really like this lipstick! The shade is PERFECT on my lips and I’ve actually been wearing this a lot these days. I recommend this to girls who are looking for a your-lips-but-better shade for a really affordable price. It’s less than 500 pesos! :)

Haul and Review: Etude House Hair Silk Serum

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

    Hi Everyone!

I’ve been posting too many things about my life lately so I wanna go back to the topic that I’ve always been passionate about: BEAUTY. Last december, I went on a mini beauty hall in Etude House! The Etude House Eastwood branch is one of the biggest branches I’ve been to and I enjoyed trying their products. I also like that their products now have descriptions to help inform customers of the basic functions of each product. I used to dislike going to Etude House stores because there were too many products without descriptions. I can’t read Hangul so I didn’t really bother looking around. Props to the new and improved Etude House! :)

Here are the items that I hauled:

I’ll be reviewing these items one by one therefore I’ll be dedicating one post per item! Watch out for them. :)

To be honest, I personally focus more on my makeup than my hair. On days when I have time, I flat-iron my hair but on most days, I either let it down naturally or tie it up when it’s too messy. As a beauty blogger, I wanted to widen the scope of my reviews and branch out more into hair products. I really enjoyed browsing through the hair products at Etude House. I ended up buying two hair products and I will be reviewing the Silk Scarf Hologram Hair Serum for today.

The main problem I always encounter with serums is them being too oily which results in making my hair feel heavy. I tried this serum out in the store and really liked the effect it gave on my hair.

    What I love:

    • I love the fruity floral scent!
    • The packaging is very cute and girly.
    • The product is quite thick but isn’t too oily. I hate it when my hands feel oily after using serums.
    • You only a small amount of product. 2-3 pumps should be enough.
    • The pump is very efficient and does not release too much product. (It would be such a waste if it released too much product.)
    • It makes my overly treated hair look shiny and healthy!
    • It’s reasonably priced at PHP378 a bottle.
    • It contains a fair amount of product at 60ml per bottle.

    What I don’t like:

    • I only wish that these come in smaller bottles because it adds a lot of weight to my daily hand bag. My bag contains a lot of items so it would be better if this was smaller. :)
    Tips
    • do not put on too much serum on your hair
    • apply it on your hair from the middle section of you hair. (DO NOT APPLUE FROM THE ROOTS. It will make your hair feel heavy)  :)
    Overall  Recommendations
I really like this hair serum! Despite my small issue with the size of the bottle, I do not regret buying this product at all! I recommend this to those who want to make their hair look more shiny, glossy and healthy!

    Cinderella Part 2

    _D4C1924

Here is the second part of the photos from my debut taken by Migs Santiago. :)

The theme for my debut was inspired by a Modern Marie Antoinette! My stylist suggested to place umbrellas in the ceiling instead of the usual lanterns to connect it to Marie Antoinette. My centerpieces were mostly pink flowers with accents of gold ornaments and pearls! I also had an all pink dessert buffet inspired my Marie antoinette’s love for sweets!

The program for my debut was very short and fast paced!

I entered with a dance number and then went out to change into my gown so I had to enter two times! I didn’t have the traditional 18 candles and just asked 10 of my closest girl friends to speak for me!

For the usual 18 roses, I called my 18 roses segment “Dancing with Maxie” and i basically grouped my guy friends into categories and made them dance to all sorts of genres (mostly ballroom)! We danced the waltz, salsa, kpop, cha cha cha, lyrical, and more. :)

Each boy who took part in my 18 roses segment was part of a video wherein each of them had to answer really unique questions about me! I also had a “Silly thing Max says” video where my guy friends tried to imitate the way I act and speak!

I also included two games to spice things up and to get my HS and college friends acquainted!

    Daryl my bakla friend

Le Polar bear on a diet, Biondi Te

lol my friend Nathan trying to semi carry me!

My super cute uncle who looks like Jollibee when dancing. :)

I made sure my dad got to do the most lifts! hahaha!

    Blockmate love!

This photos deserves a special place in this post because my fab friend Daryl forced Dean to buy a bow tie just because it was part of my dress code! HEHE

The Ericka and Krissy Villongco with James Reid

    Friends from ADMU! <3

My brother taking advantage of the fact that he can do almost anything to me on stage. HA HA.

He has two left feet but he still danced with me. HEHE Love you, Shots!

Semi-mortified at the “Silly Things Max Says” video that my 18 roses friends prepared for me!

My two blockmates who tried to dance a super short contemporary dance number with me!

    Ray and Peepoy

My 2 guy batch mates who I Lalalala looove! I made them dance SALSA with me! :)

    My girlies. <3

    MGC friends!

My sneaky little brother teases and bickers with me for a living surprised me with THE BEST birthday gift EVER. He upgraded his little brother status to BEST LITTLE BROTHER EVER!!!!! He got me VIP tickets to my ultimate fave KPOP band, BIG BANG. <333333

My talented media coverage team, 11:11 productions. :)

    HI NEIL!

    Cinderella Part 1

    153

I posted a question a few days back in my facebook page and asked if people wanted to see photos from my debut even if I’m 5 months late. A lot of people responded and wanted me to post them so here they are! :)

I wanna thank my brilliant photographers Kara Chung, Migs Santiago and Jonas Tamayo for capturing these priceless memories! They’re all fellow students from the same university I go to and I don’t think I could have found people who are more perfect for the job. :)

Since I had 3 photographers and I have a LOOOOT of photos, I’ve decided to split the post into 3 parts. This first post will feature Kara and Jonas’ Photos while the second post will contain Mig’s photos. Finally the last part will feature my 3 minute debut video. :D

Yes my dress was SEE THROUGH! It just wasn’t so obvious when I wore it because my skin matched the cloth of the dress. hehe

My handsome lil brother with his introductory speech!

    My sisters for life!

    My late Taima. <3

    le Fam Bam!

My young and hip grandpa AKA “pops”. :)

    11:11 Crew Hard at work!

    Suck and Blow.

I love how my college friends are so game for anything!

    MGC Batchmates!

    HAPPY. :)

    my gorge becky friend, Martin!

    HAHA

    Love these boys!

    En/lit block!

    sarap lang ng feather hahaha!

I chose the title “Cinderella” because I really felt like a princess on my debut. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had the generic wish just like most girls and it was to be a princess when I grew up. Cinderella has always been my favorite Disney princess and I remember watching my VHS of the movie over and over again ! Thanks to my parents and to the people who attended, I was able to live that dream even just for a night and it’s something I won’t ever forget. :)

    2013

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My 2nd day for 2013 was very well spent! I went out with 2 of my girlfriends from my High School barkada and my guy bestie who’s now studying abroad! My high school barkada’s favorite past time is EATING! We don’t go clubbing and bond over yummy food and funny conversations instead! For our mini reunion, my friend Jemimah suggested that we visit the Mind Museum at the Fort.
I’m glad that I was with good company when I visited the museum. :) My experience was made so much more memorable because I was with my friends! :)

I look like a giant in this photo!

    MY OOTD:

Corset from a bazaar, shorts from HnM

clutch from a friend, shoes from Payless, watch from Michael Kors, leather bracelet from a friend

    Blazer from HnM

HE HE I kept on trying to create a huge bubble but the wind was too strong. :(

My friends almost always let me choose where we eat! I was researching on places to eat while I was getting ready to leave and I had Wild Flour in mind! I forgot to take the address down. Good thing The Mind Museum offers free wifi AND their information counter is very helpful! We walked to Wild Flower from the Mind Museum! :)

    Banh Mi Sliders

    Croque Madame

    steak and eggs

    California Burger

Jem (the slowest eater), Ralph (the bottomless pit), yours truly, Kristine (best photog ever)! :)

The food was really good! Another thing I love when eating out with my girlfriends is that we always share what we order! I got to try everything and I can’t pick my favorite dish. Everything was soo yummy! For dessert, we walked all the way to High Street for The Cake Club! It was so windy and we wanted to “burn” what we ate. :)

my fave, Ispahan (raspberrie and lychee macaroon! )

    Vanessa

    HI ;;)

reacting over something that my friend ralph did with our social netwrok accounts. haha.

Great food + amaaazing company: YES PLEASE! I can’t wait to make more memories this year! :)

    LOTD: Farewell, 2012

    _D4C1452

    Happy New Year!

    My last LOTD of 2012:

Top from a Bazaar and leggings from HnM.

    Earrings from Yhansy

    Aldo Bag

Believe leather cuff from a friend || Watch from a friend

I know I’m late but I’ve been busy with all the holiday preparations and I wanted to relax and be away from the world. ha ha. 2012 has got to be one of the most amazing years I’ve ever had. It was such an AMAZING year filled with memories that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. Here are some of the moments and people who have made my 2012 special. :) I wrote about my last LOTD before this because the content of this post from here on is a teeny bit photo heavy. ;)

    1.  This was the year when I finally put up my own beauty blog with my own domain name in August

              2. This was the year when I was able to go two of THE most magical cities I’ve ever been to: New York and New Orleans.

NY 2012. I chose this photo because there are too many Times Square photos already! Also, this house looks similar to the houses I see in movies! It looks like Charlotte’s house from SATC, don’t you think? :)

    New Orleans 2012.

              3. I joined two orgs: AJMA and Tugon. Both of which I love dearly!

With the most down to earth diva ever, Alex Dayrit! <3

In an awareness talk for Tugon with Ms. Risa Hontiveros.

              4. These girls <3

I got closer to this pretty lady beside me who’s like a big sister to me, Daryl Chan! I have THREE first somethings with this fabulous woman!

The girl who always knows what to say when I have a problem, JB! <3 (I don’t have a neck but we look cute here hehehe)

The most multi-talented girl I know, Kara and Justine! :)

Nikki and Poki! <3 my wooovs. heehee.

    My sister in takaw-ness, Abi V. <3

    Martin Tuanquin! :)

    Kally and Ericka! :)

              5. I started my own bag line, panini stall, and online accessory shop!

    Curated Manila

    New York Minute Paninis

    Sweet Escape

              6. I went to my first halloween party!

              7. These boys.

With Josh! heehee repeat photo. It’s our only decent solo photo together. :) So many firsts with this boy! One of them would be shooting my first gun everrr. teehee.

              8. I had my debut. :)

              9. I gained the highest award I’ve ever received in my dancing career.

             10. I FINALLY got to see my husband up close and personal. <333

              11. My girlies!!!!! and boy.

Wouldn’t have gotten through the year without these girlies!

Cheers to meeting new people and making new memories this 2013! <3
