    Revel Magazine Feature: Holiday Belters

    76415_10151295562133809_602891320_n

    Hello dear readers!

I’ve been waiting to put up this post because I am so kilig  to have been given the chance to participate in my very first magazine feature! :) My talented photographer friend Jonas Tamayo recently collaborated with Revel Magazine, an online mag and he invited me to be featured in his entry as a guest photographer/contributor.

I was featured in the fourth installment in one of the magazine’s fashion segments called Cloest Diaries. They were doing a feature on belts and here’s my look! :)

Top from HnM, gray tank from Nava, shorts from F21, watch from Michael Kors, Necklace from St. Francis Square

Looking at the photos now totally make me regret not wearing more makeup because I look like I just woke up! HAHAHA. These were taken in school and I got lazy to fix my face. teehee

I actually don’t know how to explain my outfit. I just put random pieces from my closet together and this was what I was able to produce. :) I actually like how it turned out. What do you think? :)

    Shoes from Tribute Shoes :)

Click here to read the full article. I wanna thank Jonas Tamayo for inviting me and taking my photo. Check out his portfolio here.  :) Special thanks to Lauren Laudico who wrote the article! :)

    LOTD: Neon and Teal

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It’s been a while since I put up an outfit post so I decided to put one up now. I don’t wanna call myself a fashion blogger because I AM more of a makeup blogger. However, I did promise to include different kinds of posts such as lifestyle and outfit posts to let you, my readers, know more about me. :) I like dressing up so I’ll be posting outfit posts as much as I can. :)

So here’s what I wore to school today!

I don’t like to overdress when going to school because we don’t have any airconditioning in our school and it can get REALLY hot at times. I try to stock up on shorts and light clothing to keep myself sane despite the usual heat strokes I get due to the incredibly warm weather.

I picked up my sheer cover up and bracelet from the Supersale Bazaar which was recently held in the World Trade Center. I was manning my booth for Curated Manila and I kinda shopped every single day I was there. HA HA. I built my outfit around my bright cover up and decided to choose dark colors to balance out the brightness of the top. I then decided to use my favorite neon belt to add some color to my black top and maroon shorts!

Sheer cover up from a Bazaar, black top from SM Department Store, shorts form Cotton On, belt from Nava, shoes from Payless.

Watch from Vintage Casio Watches, Insect repellant band from Bug off!, SUPER CUTE bracelet from a Bazaar, ring from a friend.

For my makeup, I just put on sunblock and moisturizer, filled in my brows, and concealed my eyebags. I was kinda lazy to do my makeup and I don’t put on a lot of makeup when I go to school anyway. :)

MAC Glamour Daze Collection Lipstick Review: Outrageously Fun

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’ve always been a fan of bold lip colors! Among my go-to everyday looks is a bare face paired with a bold lip color. It’s so effortless and easy which is why I like collecting different shades of bold lip colors. The Glamor Daze Collection features 4 individual lip colors. The first color that attracted me in the MAC 2012 Holiday collection is Dramatic Encounter  which is dark and vampy purple colo but it was sold out. I got the next best thing which is Outrageously Fun, a bright fuchsia pink lipstick with blue undertones.

    What I love:

    • It’s shade is beautiful! The MAC makeup artist told me that it’s a bit similar to Candy Yum Yum. I wasn’t able to snag the Candy Yum Yum lippie when it came out so I’m extra happy that I got this!
    • It has a Cremesheen finish which makes it incredibly moisturizing.
    • It has a blue undertone which makes teeth appear whiter.
    • It swatches evenly and has a excellent pigmentation.

    What I don’t love:

    • It has the same glossy packaging as the lipstick from the Marilyn Monroe collection. I’m not a fan of the packaging because it accumulates fingerprints easily.
    • It doesn’t last as long as a matte lipstick because of it’s finish but I’d rather have a moisturizing lipstick than a dry one. :)
    • It’s limited edition. :(
    • Nothing much! I LOVE THIS.

    Final Thoughts

I’m really glad that I picked up this lipstick among the four lipstick shades!  This lipstick is for those who are into bold lip colors, but I think anyone can pull this shade off with just an extra amount of confidence. ;) I don’t have a lot of bright pink lipsticks so I didn’t mind buying another one. However, for those who already have a lot then you may skip this. :) Overall, this lipstick is absolutely a hit for me and I don’t regret buying it at all. :)

    This costs PHP1100 a pop. :)

    Baguio Day 2: Food Trip

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It’s a common fact for people who know me that I LOVE food. Travelling for me is mainly about trying out new food and adventure but FOOD outweighs everything! The most disappointing thing that could happen to me when travelling is going to a beautiful place that has bad food. This is one of the reasons why I don’t like joining tour groups when I go abroad because the budget for food is usually low and the food usually doesn’t taste good. BOO. ha ha.

Anyway when I went to Baguio with my family, I spent time researching on the local food joints in the area and tried to maximize the time we had there by going to as much restaurants we could! Here’s my day 2 and 3 in photos!

Brunch at Cafe by the Ruins!

I actually thought that Cafe by the Ruins was literally a cafe beside some sort of tourist spot containing ruins of some sort of historical landmark. I asked Martin, a Baguio local and our tour guide for the day where the ruins were and he told me that there are no ruins! HA HA. I researched further and found out that Cafe by the Ruins used to be the house of an American Civil governor until it was destroyed during the World War 2. However, the owners of Cafe by the ruins preserved some of the walls from the home of the American Civil governor. :)

    Matching shoes with martin! :)

    kamote bread with guava jam

Sorry, my family attacked the food before I even got to take a decent photo. teehee.

Lemon cream pasta with grilled chicken

I loved this the most. :)

Martin got this enormous fresh lumpia! I didn’t get to taste it cuz I was too full already.

Lemon grass drink with honey for Martin! The cafe offers free wifi so Martin and I stayed at the cafe for the rest of the day because I needed to catch up on my org work and of course catch up on all the chikas!

    Blended Iced Coffee for me.

     Dinner at Hillstation.

Crushed nuts and olive oil for the bread

    Super cute pumpkin lantern!

We went to this quaint little bookstore conveniently connected to the restuarant called Mt Cloud Bookshop. It was so hipster and cute! I love exploring hole-in-the wall looking places like this bookstore. I don’t think i’m hipster though! ha ha ha. Seriously.

Super pretty walkway! Gah, I really hate my outfit here. I regret wearing it so much. :(

    Moroccan Spiced Baby Back Ribs

    Crispy Duck Flakes

    Short Rib Ragu with Fettuccine

Sorry, but this tasted like noodles in a beef broth soup. I love noodle dishes but I was disappointed with this. :(

    Indian Lamb Curry

Lechon Kawali with Laing sa Gata

My favorite dish of the bunch! Amidst all the fancy food, this was the one that I enjoyed the most! It’s a simple fried crispy belly (lecho kawali) dish but I liked it. :)

Artisan Ice Crem sampler! Some of the super unique flavors were Dark Chocolate with Cayenne, Benguet Coffee with Choco Chips, Vanilla Cinnamon, Mango Rum, and Dulce de Leche.

    Death by Chocolate Cake.

This was AMAZING. It tasted like a molten lava cake with vanilla Ice Cream. The chocolate was a bit sweet but I like sweet. :)

Martin and I spend the rest of the night at the techno hub in Camp John Hay for coffee and hot chocolate!

    DAY 3:

Lunch at  O’ MAI KHAN for lunch. Martin says that it’s the most famous mongolian rice place in Baguio.

    my bowl

With my beloved granny and lil bro. :)

With the prettiest tour guide ever! Yes, I’m wearing slippers. We were going home already and I wanted to feel comfortable in the car. teehee.

Baguio used to be my happy place because of all the childhood memories I have of the place. Going back as a teen made me fall in love with the place again because of the food, the quaint restaurants and cozy coffee shops! I especially loved going to the different coffee shops where I was able to just relax enjoy the cool weather, food, company. I definitely wanna go back and explore more of Baguio soon. :)

    What I’ve Been Up To

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I was on a very short hiatus until recently because I’ve relocated my mini Panini Stall to Mezza Norte (near UP technohub). My panini stall was conceptualized around July this year! I went to New York for the first time this summer and I wanted to incorporate a New York theme into the conceptualization of my items and menu. All the items in my menu are inspired by different elements of New York and my friend Justine helped me with naming some my menu items! :)

We were active for a week until I decided to wait and look for better location for my panini stall. About three weeks ago, God has proven to me once again how faithful and amazing He is by allowing me to finally have a stall in Mezza Norte! I waited roughly three months just to get my application processed and by His grace I am now finally able to let people taste the delicious paninis that I truly BELIEVE in (drama much? ha ha ha.)!

Ever since we got in, I’ve been attending to my stall every night, meeting wonderful people and being inspired by the people I meet. I was also reminded by how supportive my friends and family are. I’ve been selling paninis every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6pm-3am and it’s really tiring especially since I have class on Friday and Saturday. What’s been encouraging me to keep pushing for this is the never-ending support of my friends, family, and of course the customers who have been giving me good feedback on the paninis. Nothing satisfies me more than seeing customers go back to my stall even a week after they buy from my stall.

Here are some photos of some of my memorable moments from these past few weeks!

Jeff with his Empire Steak Panini!

Josh and I with the one and only Ramon Bautista! I look stressed out here but I’m with Ramon Bautista so… KEBS.

My best friend in Mezza Norte, Paul who is also the owner of Wrap Battle.

With Lourd Veyra from the band Radio Active Sago Project.

My fabulous friends, Justine (justeen) and Justin (as in justin bieber) Hahaha.

Me holding a snake from a group of exotic animal enthusiasts! They told me that they’d buy from me if I touched their pet snake. lol.

    Customer-turned-friend, Lance!

With my talented and supportive friend Aj. He created the graphic design for my menu in one night! Check out his works here.

    Selling to customers! :)

Arguably the prettiest becky in the Ateneo, Martin Tuanquin! <3

Josh working his charm in selling to this lovely customer! hehe.

Model turned singer for a night, Anton! HEEHEE. (He sang Yellow :> )

With one fo the cutest barkadas I’ve ever met! Andre, Monnik (who recently celebrated her birthday) and of course the driver/wingman/bodyguard/amazing friend, Anton. :)

    With the whole group! hehe

With a leaner Miggy :> He’s sporting a new look which I don’t love but I’m still supporting it cuz he’s such an amazing friend. ;)

MAC Glamour Daze Collection Review: MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Upon seeing swatches and reviews online, the first product that I really wanted to purchase from the MAC Glamour Daze collection is the MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Whisper of Gilt. It’s a re-promoted item from one of the previous MAC collections. The fact that it’s being re-promoted means that it really is a good product. When I swatched it in the store, the swatches made me fall in love with the product even more! I had a limited budget so I had two choices: buy individual products from the collection or buy a set. I couldn’t afford buying the MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish along with a set. I wanted the Extra Dimension Skinfinish more than I wanted the set so I decided to purchase individual products from the collection.

There were two extra dimension finishes: Super and Whisper of Gilt. I got Whisper of Gilt because the MAC makeup artist suggested that Whisper of Gilt suited my skin tone more than Superb. Accroding to her, Superb is more suited of morenas or tan skinned women.

    What I Love:

    • the swirly design’s GORGEOUS! it doesn’t last very long though because it started fading away after a couple of times of using it
    • the color of the product is a beautiful champagne gold shade
    • it has just the right amount of shimmer (not too shimmery)
    • a little goes a long way with this product
    • it serves it’s purpose as a highlighter very well
    • it can be used as an eye shadow (all over the lid)
    What I don’t like
    • this comes in a limited edition packaging and I don’t like the material of the packaging because it accumulates fingerprints easily
    • it’s quite expensive at PHP1750 a pop!
    • none much!
    Tips and Recommendations
    • use an angled brush or stipling brush to apply
    • swipe on top of your cheek bones; used you pupil as a marker and swipe from below your pupil (you don’t want your ENTIRE face to shine. ;) The key to highlighting is to highlight the areas on your face where the light hits)
    • you may use this as a highlighter on your brow bone and cupid’s bow as well
    • remember: a little goes a long way!
I’ve been using this almost everyday and I ABSOLUTELY love it! I recommend this to those who are looking for a nice highlighter. Although this is a new holy grail product of mine, highlighters in general aren’t really part of the basic makeup must-haves. Highlighters serve like a cherry on top of a cake. You don’t really need it, but it’s definitely something nice to have! :) Makeup enthusiasts and normal girls alike will definitely love this product!

MAC Holiday Collection 2012: Glamour Daze Haul and First Impressions

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

    Hello everyone!

I’m back! I’ve been incredibly busy juggling school, extra-curricular activities, and of course my two business ventures: New York Minute Paninis (located at Mezza Norte in UP Technohub) and Curated Manila. I’ve been wanting to post but time just haven’t permitted me to do so. :( Anyhoo, last week I was able to do a mini haul on MAC’s Holiday Collection for 2012 called Glamour Daze.

I wasn’t able to attend the launch of the collection but I called up my friend Kate from MAC Cosmetics Trinoma and she told me that my best bet to buy products at was the MAC Rockwell Branch. Before I buy anything, I always make sure I do my research online. I consult my favorite makeup blogs so that I have an idea on what the star products are. I arrived at the MAC store with an idea of what items I wanted to buy. From there, I swatched items, talked to the friendly makeup artists, checked my budget, and finally purchased three items. I bought the following: MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Whisper of gilt, MAC Cremesheen lipstick in Outrageously Fun, and lastly, Extra Dimension Eyeshadow in Round Mindnight.

Based on the makeup blogs, I decided to get the MAC extra dimension skinfinish in Whisper of Gilt right away. It’s a repromote from a previous MAC Collection and even the MAC makeup artists told me that the product’s a must-buy! I love lipsticks! If you have been following my blog, I’ve been purchasing lipsticks from the past collections this year. My love for lipsticks pushed me to get the MAC Cremesheen lipstick in Outrageously fun. Lastly, I picked up an eyeshadow because the extra dimension eyeshadows from this line swatched like BUTTER! I ended up getting Round Midnight because of its gorgeous color.

Esteemed makeup bloggers always encourage people to buy sets from the MAC holiday collections because this is usually when MAC release the best bang-for-your-buck sets. However, I decided to get individual products versus purchasing any sets because when I calculated the prices of the items in the sets, I realized that the cost of them items int he sets is similar to the cost of individual products. The only difference between the sets and individual products is the packaging that the sets come in. The packaging did not matter as much to me and I wanted to have full control of all the items I bought which is why I decided to buy individual items form the collection.

If I were to recommend ONE product for you to buy, it would be the Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Whisper of Gilt. Based on my first impressions, I’m really happy with all the stuff that I purchased. Reviews of the individual products are to follow!

    What I’m Currently Loving

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

    Hello my dear readers!

Here’s a list of beauty products, trends, and random stuff that I’m currently loving this month!

    1. Cetaphil Face Wash

I’ve been using my Shisheido facial wash until got curious and purchased this! I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about it and I wanted to try it out for myself. I think it’s a really nice facial wash especially for those with sensitive skin because it’s unscented and it does feel mild on my skin! I use day in the morning and at night. :)

     2. Lancome Bifacil Makeup Remover

I’ve always loved this because it takes off even the most stubborn of mascaras! I use my Nivea Makeup wipes on a daily basis while I use this when my face is fully made up.  I previously reviewed this is my tumblr blog. I might transfer my previews posts when I’m not so busy!

    3. Shu Ueura Concealer

In the past, I have been using my Skin Food salmon concealer. When I ran out, I went back to using this Shu Uemura concealer. I’ve forgotten how nice it is! I love concealers in general and during days when I don’t feel like wearing makeup, I just conceal my eyebags, do my brows, and apply lip balm! :)

    4. Black Beauty Fix!

I always apply this after I flat iron my hair! I love how I only need to use a REALLLYYY small amount of product to make my hair look shiny! TIP: Do not apply this from the roots of your hair to keep your hair feeling light. Pump the bottle once and spread the product on your palms. Start at the middle portion of your hair strands and comb through them.

    5. Insect Repellant Band

I’m super paranoid about getting dengue! My dad got this cute insect repellant band for me and forces me to wear it everyday. I asked him to get the other colors for me so that I can match it with my outfits. ha ha ha. I wear it almost everyday on my own will just because I don’t ever want to experience getting dengue!

    6. RED album

I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!! :) Among my faves from the album are: Stay Stay Stay, Holy Ground, Red, I Almost Do, and I Knew You  Were Trouble. Hahaha! I like almost all of the songs I had to stop enumerating! It’s such a nice album I’ve been listening the the album non-stop. :)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRJM2pWeUrM

MY ultimate fave song of the album of the moment is Everything Has ChangedMy friend Kally to listen to it and couldn’t stop listening to it ever since. :) heehee.

    7. SALTED CARAMEL ANYTHING

I’ve been craving for anything that’s salted caramel! Salted caramel cupcakes, macarons and ice cream! AAAAHHH LOVE LOVE LOVE. I used to love anything red velvet but salted caramel is quickly catching up with my red velvet obsession. <3

     8. BAZAARS!!!!

I JUST LOOOOOOVE BAZAARS! I love bazaars because most of the items in bazaars and Filipino made! I recently went to the Global Pinoy Bazaar in the Rockwell tent and I was so impressed with all the Filipino brands! A lot of items are not only cheap but are also of superb quality. Would you believe that I spent less than PHP2500 for all the items in the photo above?! I especially love the corset because of the super pretty back!! I didn’t take a photo of the back just in case I take an outfit photo wearing it in the near future. ;) I think we should shop at bazaars more and patronize our own products!

What have you guys been loving? :)
