    LOTD: Mustard

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It’s been a while since I posted an LOTD! Here’s what  I wore when I went out with my friend Josh when he celebrated his birthday. I didn’t know what I was dressing up for because he refused to tell me we were going! All I knew was that we were having lunch and I was told to wear something “chill” and flats! With the few details that I was given, here’s what I came up with:

I wore heels for styling purposes only! I really wore flats as instructed. I wore gold flats to match the gold accents in my accessories. I’m glad that I wore flats because Josh ended up dragging me to Tagaytay. I don’t drive and have zero sense of direction which is why I didn’t figure out where we were headed until we reached Tagaytay.  I just realized that I’m an easy kidnap target. HA HA. Teehee.

I picked out this lovely floral peplum skirt which I found appropriate for lunch and I then built my outfit around it.

Corset from a bazaar || Peplum skirt from a Bazaar || Shoes from Michael Antonio

    Yes I know I need a manicure.

Bag from A.L.T Manila || Watch from Michael Kors || Cuff from an online store

    Earrings from Yhansy

I got this jacket from one of the stalls in the recent Supersale bazaar held at the WTC! I just love love love the color zipper detail on the jacket!

This was the only photo Josh and I took together! I grabbed it from his instagram account, teehee! Belated Happy Birthday, Josh! :)

I’m so glad that I brought a blazer with me because it was FREEZING in Tagaytay! As much as I tend to over-think things, I appreciate spontaneity once in a while! I’ve been to Tagaytay countless of times but it will never be the same after my last visit. :)

Review: Limited Edition K-Palette 24 Hour Real Lasting Eyeliner

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello everyone! Happy holidays! I’ve taken a short hiatus because I just wanted to make sure that I spent the holidays with my loved ones without any distractions. :) I’m back with the final installment on the series of reviews that I’ve been doing on K-Palette Cosmetics! You may find my previous product reviews here and here. Today I will be reviewing the K-Palette 24 Hour Real Lasting Eyeliner. :)

The good ol’ eyeliner has got to be among one of the first makeup items every girl/woman will purchase. It’s one of the most basic makeup essentials and it’s very easy to use. I myself have gone through a LOT of eyeliners: Pencil liners, gel liners, liquid liners, you name it! However, the K-Palette 24 Hour Real Lasting Eyeliner has been making waves in the beauty industry and it’s getting hard to turn a blind eye on it. I’ve been wanting to try it out and I was immediately sold on buying it when I saw that it currently comes in a super adorable limited edition packaging!

    Product

The K-Palette 24 Hour Real Lasting Eyeliner  is among the top 3 best-selling eyeliners in Japan. It has long surpassed it’s popularity in Japan because it’s slowly becoming a favorite of makeup enthusiasts and normal girls all over the world. According to its website, the eyeliner boasts of 3 special features: its micro-fibre brush, breakthrough and waterproof polymer molecule, and its unique conditioning formula.

    What I Love:

    • The packaging is SUPER CUTE!!! Pink is one of my favorite colors and I love the limited edition packaging of the eyeliner 10x more than it’s regular packaging.
    • Easy to use! No need to shake.
    • The super fine tip makes it very easy to use! This is perfect for girls who are new to make-up and have yet to perfect their “flicks”!
    • You may create various looks with this: sexy Cat eyes, thin lines, thick lines, etc!
    • It’s very pigmented.
    • It’s not shiny unlike other eyeliners. Other eyeliners that produce shiny lines often “crack”, if you get what I mean. haha.
    • IT DOES NOT BUDGE!
    • You may take it of by splashing water on the eyeliner and rubbing it. (I suggest not to rub though because skin around the eyes is extremely delicate. You’re better off using a makeup remover than having to splurge on expensive eye creams in the future . (; )
    •

    What I don’t like:
    • NOTHING!
    •

    Tips for application:
    • For beginners, start from the middle of your eye lid. Take you time and you may start out by applying tiny dots close to your lash line and then connect! End by completing the line from your inner eyelid. Try to line as closely to your lids as possible.
    • To keep it from drying out, make sure that you store it with the TIP of the liner facing the surface of your cup/eyeliner holder.
    Recommendations:
THIS EYELINER IS GOLDEN!! It has definitely reach holy grail status! It’s such a fuss-free product and it has definitely saved me a lot of time on my daily routine. I recommend this to every girl out there. It’s THAT AMAZING. Every girl deserves to know about this amaazing product. :)

Review: K-Palette Kuma Cover Control Concealer

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I back with the second installment of my K-Palette Cosmetics Reviews! I’m always on the look out for concealers because it’s one of my daily essentials! I have really bad eye bags due to the long nights I have to go through as a college student. Yikes!

The K-Palette Kuma Cover Control Concealer caught my eye as I was browsing through the items in the K-Palette counter at Beauty Bar. There are three shades: Type 1 (natural beige), Type 2 (yellow beige) and Type 3 (orange beige). I initially picked up the type 3/03 concealer. It ended up not doing much for my eye bags. I really wanted to love the Kuma Cover Control concealer so I bought the type 2/02 concealer which is for brightening. It was lovely and I’m glad I repurchased another Kuma Cover Control Concealer. They cost PHP 895 a pop.

    O3 Orange Beige

     02 Yellow Beige

Swatches of O2 on the Left and 03 on the right.

According to the label on the box, 02 is for dull skin and pigmentation while 03 is for poor blood circulation. As you can see, the shades doesn’t work like normal concealers that work for people with fair skin to people with olive skin. These concealers serve different skin problems. Based on my skin, I find that the shade 02/Type 2 works fabulously on concealing and brightening my eye bags. The shade 03/Type o3 on the other hand, corrects my purplish veins and conceals my pimples well. :)

    What I Love:

    • The plastic packaging the houses the concealers are very sturdy.
    • The concealers comes in a tube that releases just the right amount of product.
    • The concealers have superb coverage and they really work according to the promised function.
    • You only need a small amount of product for it to work. (Blend with fingers!)
    • The product stays on all day.

    What I don’t like:
    • It’s a bit on the pricy side at 895 a pop and yet the product doesn’t fill up the entire tube.
    Swatches
    Final Recommendations
I really like this concealer despite my small issue with the product content. I find that this works best for the with light to medium skin tones. This is a Japanese Brand after all so it’s designed for women with skin on fair side. Overall, the product does what it promises and it’s a superb concealer! I recommend this to those who are looking for a concealer that covers up eye bags and even blemishes. :)
Do you have this concealer? What are your thoughts on this? :)

    Review: K-Palette 2 Way Eyebrow

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

For the longest time, I’ve been hearing about how amazing Japanese cosmetics are and I finally gave in to discovering the magic of Japanese cosmetics first-hand.I recently went on a mini haul in Beauty Bar and snagged some online cult favorites that I have been eyeing for a long time now: K-Palette products! I bought a K-Palette 2 Way Eyebrow, a limited edition K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner, and 2 K-Palette Kuma cover Control concealers!

My latest beauty obsession is groomed eyebrows! Eyebrows are so underrated and girls often skip fixing up their brows. I used to ignore my brows and focused on piling on makeup on my face. Thank goodness that I finally saw the light when I learned of the importance of groomed eyebrows!  My extra lazy day makeup routine consists of fixing my eyebrows and putting on concealer. 2 steps and I’m ready to go!

Today I will be reviewing the K-Palette 2 Way Eyebrow in honey brown. There are two colors: 01 Chocolate brown and 02 honey brown. The former is for those with dark hair while the latter is for those who have light hair like me! The K-Palette 2 Way Eyebrow is a 2 way brow liner which consists of a liner (physically similar to a liquid eyeliner) and an angled powder sponge. It costs PHP 1050 a piece.

    What I Love:

    • The two-way feature of this brow liner makes the product very functional. It’s all you’ll ever need for your brows.
    • The liner is perfect for filling in the gaps in my barely-there eyebrows and my eyebrows still look natural once filled up with the liner.
    • The angled sponge with eyebrow powder is perfect for setting the brow liner.
    • It’s very long-lasting and stays on all day.
    What I don’t like:
    • The liner takes a bit of getting used to. You have to take some time when using it because the brush isn’t very stiff which makes it prone to errors. (I think the the brush is soft for a reason. The soft brush contributes to the natural effect that the brow liner produces.)
    • There are only two shades. I have a really light hair color and it’s still a tad bit dark for my hair.
Me with absolutely no makeup. Well me with only the K-Palette Two Way Eyebrow Liner.  I think the only catch that comes with beauty blogging is having to appear completely barefaced to the entire world. This may sound shallow but there are some girls who refuse to go out of the house without makeup. It’s a very personal thing to some girls. :) Nonetheless, I love my readers too much so here I am with no makeup. :D

    Final Thoughts
I really like this brow liner! It gives my brows a very natural look and I love it so much that I’m willing to just add a tinted brow gel for it to match my hair color. I recommend this to those who want to experience having “fashion-magazine-ready”/artista-looking eyebrows!

Do you have this product? What are your favorite Japanese products?

    Supersale Bazaar: LOTD + Haul

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My mini bag line Curated Manila had a booth at the Supersale Bazaar which was recently held at the World Trade Center. We were there for 5 days and I basically shopped everyday I was there. I just couldn’t help it!!! One of my major pet peeves when I go shopping in bazaars is not getting to see everything that’s on sale. I’m glad that I was able to take my time to look around the whole bazaar. I feel like I already knew it by heart after 5 days exploring it. ;) ha ha.

I’ve been thinking about wether or not to post a haul post because I did not want to seem like I’m bragging. However, based on the views from the last haul post, it seems like people like haul posts! So here are the items that I was able to accumulate from the bazaars in 5 days:

I bought more clothes than makeup because I realized that I’ve been spending too much money on makeup and I’m running out of clothes!

    My top three purchases:

This has to be my favorite purchase! It’s a super cute “lock” thing that binds wires. I use it to bind the wires of my gadgets such as my phone charger wire, Ipod connector wire, etc.

This is my second fave purchase! This pair of heels make my legs look thin plus I got the seller to give me a pretty nice discount. :)

My third fave purchase! I find this sooo cute and unique! The owner of the booth does on the spot made to order bracelets and necklaces in the same style. They have lots of colors to choose from but I chose this jewel tone color to match the holiday season. :)

Here are the makeup items that I bought. I LOVE eyeshadow palettes! I’m very excited to review my newest palette from UD which is the limited edition Alice in Wonderland Palette. This was released a  while back and I got so excited when I saw it in the bazaar. <3

Here’s what I wore to the first day of the Bazaar:

Top from F21 || shoes from Payless

     shorts from f21

    Bag from Curated Manila

gold ring from a bazaar, mint ring from F21, watch from Casio

Did you guys go to the bazaar? What did you haul? :)

My Go-To Nail Salon: Ellabel’s Nail Spa

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m always been the type to de-stress like a typical girly girl: PAMPER MYSELF. Among my pampering methods would be having endless foot spa treatments with manicure and pedicure, massage treatments, shopping, all that girly stuff. I absolutely love getting my nails done and I make sure to get them done every two weeks or so. I’ve been to a number of nail spas within the vicinity of my house but I’ve only sticked to one.

Given that I’ve had lots of experience when it comes to nail salons, I’ve become very picky with them.

I don’t like nail salons with:

    1. with local nail polishes (OPI, Essie, china glaze please!)
    2. uncomfortable chairs (couches only)
    3. horrible ambience (no to manicures and pedicures in salons! haha just kidding)
    4. outdated magazines
    5. noise

Ellabel’s Nail Spa has obviously passed all my requirements which is why I’ve been going to Ellabel’s Nail Spa ever since it opened. :)

What paradise looks like to me.

I absolutely love everything about this nail salon! The interior is very so chic and I think the overall color scheme of the spa is very pleasant because the color tealish blue color is very cool on the eys.

    Where I Camp out.

Gadgets galore! Another thing I love about this salon is that they offer FREE WIFI. The internet connection is very fast. I like multi tasking so I usually bring my laptop with me to accomplish some work when I get my nails done. Sometimes, I read magazines because they always have updated magazines. If not, I sleep! :) I have a talent of sleeping anywhere at will. ;)

Three rows of nail candy goodness!! This is one of the major reasons why I love this nail salon. <3

My nail color as of the moment. I went for this color because of the holiday season. It’s dark purple. :)

    Tada!

    Inspire Me

    189209_4359657902498_1651537858_n

A lot of you may be wondering about the title of this post and what it means. I’ve just been doing so much work for school, my orgs, and my mini business ventures. Sometimes I can’t help but feel like an animal in a farm accomplishing one task after another without any clear idea of why I’m doing them. Sometimes, we get so busy and we begin to lose our purpose without even noticing. So I’ve been taking my time trying to re-align my end goals, remember why I committed myself to my obligations and re-inspire myself. It’s important to be keep being inspired because this is when all the burden we carry from the hard work begins to feel like feathers on our backs. :)

Anyway, a few days back, my photographer friend, Agi told me that she wanted to shoot me and my friend Justine out of the blue. I immediately agreed because it meant me getting a free OOTD shoot! I absolutely HATE taking photos because I find it so hard to take nice photos and this is why I always agree when a photographer friends offers to take my photos. :)

Here’e what I wore to school that day:

    Shoes from Tutum.

Top and tank from Nava. Skirt from F21.

Necklace and neon bracelet from a bazaar.

Watch from Michael Kors. Bag from Curated Manila.

Mini friendship photoshoot with my closest friend in college, Justine Burgos!!!! :)

Justine’s wearing the most gorgeous belt which was given to her by her tita. I think her tita got it from a thrift store or market/bazaar abroad! :)

She’s my sister, mommy, my everything. <3 No seriously, I don’t know how my college life would be without this amazing girl beside me!!!!!

With a very talented friend/the gurl behind the lens, Agnes Wang! I look like a retard here but Agi looks amazing so fine. :) ha ha.

MAC Glamour Daze Collection Review: Extra Dimension Eyeshadow

    OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m back with the last installment on the reviews I’ve been doing for the MAC 2012 Holiday Collection. I’ve previously reviewed the MAC extra dimension skinfinish in Whisper of Gilt and a lipstick called Outrageously Fun which are both from the collection. Today I will be reviewing an eyeshadow from the collection called Round Midnight. :) Round midnight is a dark purplish shade with a hint of burgundy. The collection features 8 eyeshadows but I had to choose one and I chose Round Midnight.

    What I Love:

    • it swatches SUPERBLY! it feels like butter on my skin when swatched.
    • the color is gorgeous! I find it to be a very unique color which makes it one of the newest gems in my makeup collection.
    • can be used when wet and dry! the quality is superb either way.
    • excellent wearing time as well! I wore this first to a party and it lasted on me all night. :)

    What I don’t like:

    • Each eyeshadow only contains 1.3 grams per product. A normal MAC eyeshadows contains 1.5 grams worth of product.
    • I wasn’t able to check how much a normal eyeshadow here in the Philippines costs but the normal eyeshadows cost around $5 less than the eyeshadows from this collection

    Swatches:

Yay for chipped nail polish. haha

    Overall Recommendations

Despite the fact that the extra dimension finish eyeshadows contain less product than the regular ones, the quality of these eyeshadows make up for the lack in product quantity. I really like the formula of the eyeshadow and I recommend this to those who are looking for eyeshadows with excellent quality. I like to use this on my crease to create dimension in my eyes. :)
