I have a lot-hate relationship with buffet. Well, mostly it’s a loving relationship. Uhhh, gorge on any food you wish until your belly hurts? COUNT ME IN. Of course, there are some days when I prefer being to just sit down, relax, on focus on the delicious food hat’s in front of me. But last mother’s day wekeend, my love-relationship for buffets got the best of me so I convinced my mom to try out Cucina’s Weekend Fiesta at Marco Polo Manila with me.

So, without further ado, I present you THREE things you shouldn’t miss out on in Cucina’s Weekend Fiesta.

  1. FRESHLY CUT TUNA FROM A LIVE TUNA!DSCF2623 (1)
Yes, you heard that right. Aside from the other fresh seafood available in Cucina’s seafood section, Cucina is now offering fresh and sustainable tuna. It’s not only fresh but also SUSTAINABLE. Cucina, you get brownie point from me for this! I don’t want to preach about my sustainable living ideals because I don’t think I’m well versed enough YET but knowing that Cucina’s tuna comes from partner fisheries that help conserve ecosystems is very comendable.
  2. CUCHINILLO!DSCF2653 (1)
I mean, a buffet doesn’t get any more festive that having a crispy cuchinillo in its spread. Cucina’s cuchinillo definitely deserves an A+! It had me and my mum coming back for seconds.. And shh.. thirds.
  3. And finally, THE PAELLA.DSCF2747 (1)DSCF2667 (1)
I swear on old gods and the new, it’s one of the best paella’s served in any buffet in the Metro. Most of the time, paella dishes in other buffets fail miserably but in Cucina, it takes centerstage and rightly so because Cucina is headed by a Catalan executive chef!

Aside from those three things you shouldn’t miss out on, here are some of Cucina’s other offerings.

don’t miss out on the Baklava! The hand on the photo is reaching out for one. ;)

My mom and I were too excited to jump in, I wasn’t able to take nice photos of our food. I promised my mom I’d let her eat before her food turns cold so I decided to skip taking photos and just enjoy our lovely lunch. ;)
