L’oreal 2016 Edit: Review, LOTD, and News!

DSCF2272

Last week, I was able to witness the unveiling of L’oreal Paris’ chosen Filipina brand ambassadors. This is a milestone for the brand since it’s their first time to have Filipina brand ambassadors – Solenn Heussaff, Chesca Garcia-Kramer, and Dawn Zulueta-Lagdameo who represent the brand’s makeup, hair color, and skin care lines.

I also received a handful of L’oreal makeup, hair and skincare products, most of which are being used by L’oreal’s newest brand ambassadors! I was so impressed with the makeup products and I realized that I had enough items to create an effortlessly beautiful makeup look. So I thought I’d do a mini review on the makeup products plus an LOTD as well.DSCF2272

L’oreal True Match Genius P600

It’s L’oreal Paris’ first ever 4-in-1 compact foundation that combines the functions of a primer, foundation, concealer, and powder. It’s a cream – powder foundation and it comes in 6 shades.DSCF2295

I love how brands are constantly innovating to help people live easier lifestyles. Creating a 4-in-1 compact foundation helps a woman who’s constantly on-to-go tremendously. Personally, I love the idea of a 4-1 company foundation. But the coverage of the foundation is light – medium. So, I would still recommend the use of concealer to fully cover imperfections. Otherwise, the foundation applies like a breeze and stays on without fading for about 5 hours without labor intensive movements.

L’oreal Balm Caresse

It’s yet another multi-purpose product that combines the functions of a lipstick and a lip balm. It’s enriched with natural spa oils that instantly soother chapped lips and it comes in 8 vibrant shades.DSCF2323

The formula reminds me of Revlon’s lip butters but with a thinner consistency. This may do the trick for a lot of Filipinas but for someone who had dry lips like me, I would still need a hard core lip balm to fully condition my lips. What I love about this product though is its tint-like effect which I think can be used for the cheeks as well. It doesn’t describe it as a blusher but I used it like a cheek tint stick and it gave my cheeks a rosey glow.

L’oreal False Lash Superstar

And yet, another 2-in-1 product! It’s an award-winning primer and mascara. The primer has 7 types of oils that help with lash growth.  The Mascara has extra fibers in glossy black mascara to make sure your lashes point all the way to the sky.DSCF2313DSCF2316DSCF2318

I have problematic short, thin, asian lashes. And this mascara did its job of emphasising my lashes but my lashes have performed better with other few select mascaras.

L’oreal Brows Artist Chisel

L’oreal’s answer to the Korea’s straight brow trend is their first ever 2-in-1 brow mascara and liner.DSCF2305DSCF2306

I was so impressed and amazed with this product because I’ve never seen anything like it! I’m about to share my third biggest insecurity/problem with you guys and that’s my almost non-existent brows. I couldn’t use the liner brow applicator without making it look overdrawn on my thin, barely-there brows. BUT I did use the brow mascara wand as a finishing touch to my brow powder. And omg, it stayed on ALL day. When I got home, I looked tired but my brows were still intact. Wow.

L’oreal Superliner Superstar

Loreal’s only one-function product for this edit is their liquid liner. DSCF2298DSCF2304

It had a felt-tip-like, super-sharp-at-the-end but also fat-in-the-middle-applicator. The precise tip makes it easy to create precise lines while the thick body makes it easy to create bold graphic lines. It also stayed on until the night with some very minor fading. It has a matte black shade but I think it could be darker.

My FOTD using all the products above:DSCF2406

So, that concludes my L’oreal edit! What do you think? Have you encountered these products before? Let me know in the comments section below!
