Candy colored, bleached hair is all the rage nowadays. It’s actually so nice to see more and more regular Filipino women (regular, meaning, non-bloggers) sporting adventurous bleached hair colors. For the longest time, wearing a ton of makeup and sporting “Crazy” hairstyles have been an unspoken “don’t” in the Philippines. But, times are truly changing and it’s amazing to see more women embracing unconventional yet beautiful beauty trends.
I myself have dreamed of sporting the famous lilac or rose gold hair that I’ve seen countless of times on Tumblr and on my Istagram explore page. I never took the plunge because I’ve been hearing so much negative things about bleaching one’s hair. However, when Wella Philippines invited me to try out their hair coloring products, I had a feeling it was the best time go on the bleached-hair train. It’s now or never, right?

where all the magical hair concoctions happen
Once in the Wella Philippines training HQ, I was introduced to my hair colorist / artist for the day Marjorie, who took me through the entire process of having my hair bleached. Up until that moment, I was still having second thoughts of having my hair bleached. I was T H A T apprehensive about it! Eventually, I reached a decision to bleach the lower section of my hair PURPLE.

Once we finally decided what to do with my hair, Marjorie swiftly applied the bleach treatment from Wella’s Blondor line onto the lower part of my hair. We waited a few minutes for the bleach to set in. Normally, some types of hair colors need 2-3 layers of bleaching. Thankfully, my chosen color only required 1 layer of bleaching.
The bleach was then rinsed away Wella Brilliance Shampoo. Marjorie also applied Wella Color Post treatment leave-on after the rinse to treat my newly bleached hair.

step 5: rinse
Next, Marjorie used two shades for the base (KP 55/66) and tips (KP 0/66) of my hair from Wella’s Kolston line. I waited a few more minutes for the color to set in.

step 6: apply roots and base color!
Moving on, my hair was rinsed once again with the Wella Brilliance Shampoo and treated with Wella Color Post treatment leave-on.
step 9: rinse, shampoo, treat, rinse!
Finally, after half a day of endless gigglinh, chikahan and waiting, it was time to reveal my new hair!
Voila! What do you think?
I haven’t had dark hair in a while, so I was surprised at first. But I immediately fell in love with my new hair!!! I love it so much, I wish I had bleached my entire head and colored it purple instead.
before and after
Overall, I had a wonderful experience undergoing my hair transformation at Wella Ph. I knew that if I was going to go through something as drastic as this, Wella Headquarters was the place to do it in. I didn’t feel nervous at all because I knew that I was in good hands. I can’t wait to return and hopefully dye my entire head purple, next time! Finally, I’ve achieved my Tumblr hair goals thanks to Wella PH!
If you want to achieve the same hair colour as mine, here’s a list of salons in Manila that carry Wella products. These salons have been trained by the talented Colorists of Wella PH to ensure the use of their products at the utmost quality possible.
