I first came across sugar factory when I was in New York in 2012. It was a complete chance encounter when I chanced upon the candy shop while I was looking for Serendipity. Being a certified candyholic, I got sidetracked and stepped inside the store. I was overwhelmed at the sight of endless choices for CANDY. In short, I was in heaven. I left the store with a bag of pasalubong and haven’t heard about it since then. Until I found out that the dynamic American brasserie and retails store is now in the Philippines! I actually didn’t know that they had a restaurant / dessert arms as well! I always thought that they were just a candy shop. So when I got invited to their media launch, I dropped everything to make sure I could go!

With locations in some of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities including: New York City, Bahrain, Chicago and Miami, Sugar Factory is known the world over for its celebrity-endorsed Couture Pops, which have turned sweets into the latest designer accessory. Iconic superstars including Britney Spears, Drake, Nicole Scherzinger, Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria, Carmen Electra and Rupert Grint are just a few of the celebrities who have either endorsed or have been spotted with the sparkly lollipops. I was totally hoping they’d bring in their latest endorser Kylie for the opening, teehee! A girl can dream!

By the time we got to the actual desserts, I was barely breathing from all the food I had already eaten. Thank God I saved a TINY space for dessert because in my opinion, these desserts take center stage at Sugar Factory.

Overall

As a certified dessert lover, I welcome Sugar Factory with arms wide open! While Sugar factory’s hot dishes are quite good, the cakes definitely stood out and I can’t wait to go back for more of the slices of heaven on earth!
