Every once in a while, I come across pictures of dying polar bears due to global warming, news about the the world’s major cities potentially being submerged in water in the near future on my Facebook newsfeed. These kinds of news are getting more common on my feed and I always feel powerless when faced with these kinds of news. So recently, I have been trying to make more conscious choices to lessen my personal environmental footprint.
Let’s be real. As a beauty addict residing in the Philippines, it’s not easy to be 100% environmentally conscious with my purchasing decisions. It’s a good thing though that we now have Clean – a pioneer of simple and eco-conscious perfumes that believes in sustainable beauty.
The scent of CLEAN was initially inspired by a bar of soap, but has since evolved to evoke simple and very familiar memories. The scent of warm cotton, clean linens, and fresh towels being pulled out from the dryer are some of Clean’s classic fragrances that have garnered their own cult following in Asia namely, Japan, Singapore and Korea.
Now, CLEAN Reserve introduces nine fragrances made from the perfumers’ reserve collections: Amber Saffron, Warm Cotton [Reserve Blend], Blonde Rose, Rain [Reserve Blend], Skin [Reserve Blend], Smoked Vetiver. Sueded Oud, Terra Woods, and Velvet Flora.
I personally like Blond Rose the most but a lot of my friends loved Warm Cotton, Skin, and Rain. What’s also good about these perfumes is that unlike the usual complex perfume in the market, these scents are linear which allows for layering of scents.

skin–a popular choice among bloggers
warm cotton–another popular scent
In addition to elevating the art of perfumery in its newest line, CLEAN renews its commitment to producing perfumes through more sustainable and responsible processes. Whether it’s ensuring to replenish natural resources, harvesting and planting more responsibly, or supporting the communities and farmers by protecting their livelihoods, CLEAN abides to its promise of being an eco-conscious brand.
In fact, its partner manufacturing facilities are all 100% solar powered, ensuring that CLEAN is able to lower its carbon footprint to protect the earth. In addition to this, the entire packaging, from the box to the cellophane, is biodegradable and recyclable – even the alcohol used for the perfume base is corn derived.
I absolutely love Clean Reserve’s newest scents but I love Clean’s sustainable beauty philosophy even more. It brings me so much joy to know that there are now more and more companies that commit to sustainable business practices and I believe that this is how all companies should aspire to be.
On a side note, Clean Reserve was launched in one of Manila’s most stunning restaurants, Blackbird. It had sooo much natural lighting, my tummy had butterflies! Haha. Here’s what we had:
The food was so good, I just had to share!
CLEAN Reserve retails for P4,600, and is available at SM Makati, SM Aura, Rustan’s Shangri-La and Rustan’s Makati.
