Hello everyone!

I’m back with another LOTD (look of the day) featuring one of the outfits that I wore to school last week! :) At the end of this post, I will also be posting a super quick and easy photo makeup tutorial of something that you can wear to school! I personally do not like having a fully made up face when I go to school because like I said in my previous posts, we don’t have airconditioning in my school. </3 However, for those of you who are blessed to have airconditioning in school, then this will be perfect for you! :)

Anyway, back to my outfit! I wore a really light top because I had to fry twister fries all day for a school bazaar last week! haha. I paired it with a cute pair of scallop shorts from a bazaar and then I chose a statement accessory to complete my outfit. :)

MY SUPER FAVORITE NECKLACE OF THE MOMENT!! From Tie a Little Nut. They sent this to me along with a SUPER SWEET AND ADORABLE NOTE! <3

My friends know that I absolutely adore crazy statement necklaces! I wear different necklaces almost everyday but when I wore this to school last week, a lot of people kept on asking me where I got it. :) Anyway, I’m super touched that I’m the only one in the world who has this design. haha! I’m sure you guys will lots of other pieces that you’ll like from Tie a little nut’s collections though. ;)

My Face of the Day:

Mini Tutorial:

*I made this super simple because it would be impractical to put on a bunch of makeup especially if you’re running late for class! :)

Step 1: Face

1. Apply foundation or BB cream. You may use powder foundation too!

2. Apply concealer. Dab it GENTLY under your eyes using your ring finger to prevent wrinkles. Remember, the skin around the eyes is very delicate. :)

Stept 2: Eyes

1. Apply a brow product of your choice. Trace the natural shape of your brows.

2. Apple a shimmery pink eyeshadow all over your lid using a flat shader brush. (Mac 239)

3. Apple a brown shadow on the outer v of your eye to add dimension using the other side of the flat shader brush.

4. Blend using a light brown eyeshadow with a blending brush (Mac 217)

5. line your lash line. I used a brown pencil to keep my eyes looking natural. ;) (Urban decay eyeliner in CORRUPT)

1. smile and put on your blusher of choice on the apple of your cheeks (MAC gentle)

2. curl your lashes and apply your choice of mascara (majolica majorca lash expander frame plus)

3. apply your choice of lipstick (MAC chatterbox)

Review: Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Mauve-ulous

Hi everyone!

In my last blog post, I talked about my favorite trend for Fall 2012 which is Burgundy Lips. For my last post, I looked for an affordable lipstick with a burgundy shade and the best one that I found was the Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Mauve-ulous. :)

What I Love:

i love the shade
the colorsensational line generally has a wide shade selection
the “curved” shape of the lipstick makes it easy for people to apply the lipstick on the lips
slightly scented but I barely notice the scent
packaging is simple but it doesn’t look cheap
very moisturizing
cheap at PHP399 compared to a standard MAC lipstick which costs around PHP1000

What I Don’t Like

since the lipstick is moisturizing, it does not stay on for a long time.
you’ll have to keep on reapplying
the silver part of the lipstick acquires fingerprints easily

Overall Tips and Recommendations

I really like this lipstick. I think it is perfect for those who are looking for affordable lippies. For those who have wide lipstick collection shades and are used to high end lipsticks, I don’t think that they will appreciate this as much. I used to be a brand snob and I used to buy only high end lippies. However as a beauty blogger, I’ve become more open to looking for cheaper alternatives. I don’t think that this product is exceptional because of that fact that it doesn’t stay on the lips very long but for a lipstick that costs PHP399, you get your money’s worth for this product.

Fall 2012 Trend: Burgundy Colored Lips

Hello everyone!

I’ve never really been one to follow fashion trends by season but a friend of mine has been influencing me to update myself on the latest trends! Since I am a beauty blogger and not a fashion blogger, I decided to update myself with the latest makeup trends for fall. There were lots of new exciting Fall 2012 runway makeup trends and I chose my favorite one: The Burgundy Colored Lip. Out of all the trends, I find this the most wearable. That and because I am in love with lipsticks!!!

Apparently for fall, bloody red lips aren’t dramatic enough! This is a more dramatic take on the classic red lip and it kind of borders on a gothic vibe.

My take on the trend:

I looked for a drugstore lipstick and the best one I found is Mauve-ulous from the Maybelline Colorsensational line. :)

Tips:

Make sure to exfoliate your lips because this shade would not look good on chapped lips. You can use petroleum jelly or your choice of lip balm for this. :)
For a matte effect, you may dab some translucent powder on your lips after the lipstick has been applied.
To be able to wear this on day time, make sure that the makeup on your entire face is minimal. You want people to focus on your pretty lips! ;)
To be able to wear this out at night, just pair it with a neutral colored smokey eye. For a night out of partying, feel free to go for a dramatic smokey eye! Just don’t use bright colors to avoid looking like a coloring book. teehee!

I also wanted to use the trend on my nails so I picked a super deep wine colored polish the last time I had my nails done. :)

You don’t really need to follow exact trends! Take inspiration from the latest trends and make them your own. :)

Review: Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus

One thing I love about my friends is that they how much I LOOOVE makeup which is why I feel extra touched when they give me makeup as presents. teehee! Anyway, a friend of mine recently gave me the Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus Mascara as a present for my birthday. The black version is actually my holy grail mascara. Imagine my excitement when my friend told me that the mascara is actually color blue! Scroll down for my full review. :)

Product

I’ve love Majolica Majorca’s packaging! The design of the packaging of this mascara is compliant to the overall theme of Majolica Majorca’s products. The overall theme of their products usually gives off a “royal” vibe. Their products look like something Marie Antoinette would use! :) The body and the applicator of the mascara is made of plastic. :)

Also, even though the mascara is indeed blue, it comes off as black when applied.

What I love:

very nice packaging
holds a curl for almost the entire day
very wearable!
superbly lengthens my non-existent lashes
sweat proof
I JUST LOVE THIS MASCARA. PERIOD.

What I dont like:

OMG nothing. haha! I honestly can’t think of anything I don’t like about this!

Overall Tips and Recommendations

Remember to swipe off excess product on a tissue to avoid clumping. To maximize the products potential, make sure to coat your lashes from the roots to the tips. However, don’t go overboard. :D 1-2 coats should enough. You don’t want spider looking lashes. ;)

This is my first time to try a colored mascara and I really like this mascara because it’s totally wearable! I wore this to school today and no one really commented anything about my “colored” lashes. I have seen really tinted mascaras over the internet so I think this is a tamer version of those crazy looking tinted mascaras. This is perfect for those who want to experiment with their makeup but don’t want to go overboard. ;)

Review: Etude House Easy Brow Pencil

My recent hair color change meant that I also had to find a new brow color to match my new hair color. I really get bothered when I see girls who have colored hair but have black brows. I find myself mentally “coloring” their brows to match their head color. haha! It’s not something that I hate but it just really bothers me. Anyway, the rule of thumb for finding the right brow shade is to choose a brow color that matches your head color. That or if you have dark hair, you can go 1-2 shades darker and for those who have light hair (e.g: blonde, etc), you should go 1-2 shades darker than your hair color.

I’ve been hearing rave reviews on Etude House’s brow products! I finally went to the SM department store to check out their brow products however, their best selling eyebrow pencil was out of stock. Instead, I got the Etude House Easy Brow Pencil in Brown #2.

Product

In the past, I have been using my Sonia Kashuk brow palette and recently, I started using an eyebrow pencil from Ever Bilena. This is my first brow pencil from Etude House and I really like it! The casing is very unique. I don’t really know how to explain it but when you take the short “cap” off, it reveals the spooly brush. You then have to pull the long part of the product to reveal the actual pencil. I know it osunds complicated as you read it but it’s incredibly easy to use! :)

What I love:

product is very cheap at PHP129 a piece.
not scratchy at all
blends well with my eyebrows
easy to use and bring around
comes with a useful spooly brush to blend the eyebrows

What I don’t like:

you have to sharpen it
limited shade selection because the other shades were out of stock

Overall Tips and Recommendations

I really like this brow pencil. It’s affordable and it matches my head color. I’ve been thinking of purchasing the more popular and high end brow products but this actually works well for me. As a beauty blogger, I’ll have to try the other brow products sooner or later but I would recommend this for girls on a budget. Remember to find a shade that matches your hair color! ;)

Teal and Pastel

I looove teal and pastel colors! My super fabulous fashion loving friend Daryl keeps on telling me that those colors are for summer and that I should dress according to this year’s fall palette. I told her that I dress like it’s summer or sumer all year. Teehee! I don’t really dress according to seasons because I usually just dress according to how I am feeling. I’m generally a very happy person so I always end up looking I’m dressed for the spring/summer season. :)

Anyway my friend Trufferson Chungpeng from New Zealand Natural Ice Cream invited me to attend a cooking demo featuring New Zealand Natural Ice cream which was held at the Cookery at the Fort.

couldn’t get enough of this! The cookie’s texture as a perfect match to the ice cream because it wasn’t crumbly and wasn’t too hard either.

I forgot her name but she was the one who did all the demonstrations! It was super easy listening to her! I get bored easily but she made the whole demonstration fun and interactive! :)

I opted for a neutral eye look using my Too Faced Natural Eye Palette because the event I attended was held during day time! I also used an affordable eyebrow pencil from Ever Bilena, my Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation, Shu Uemura concealer, Mac mineralize blush in gentle, and Mac lipstick in chatterbox! For my lashes, I used my favorite Majolica Majorca Lash Expander mascara. <3
