The Birth Of A New Icon

One of my most memorable posts on this blog is a review of one of my favorite lip formulas ever: Dior Fluidstick. Through the years, my love has stayed strong for Dior’s Fluidstick. I still use Pandore very often, because it leaves the prettiest stain on my lips which is perfect when I’m going for a Korean inspired makeup look! Imagine my heart breaking into a million pieces when I found out that Dior’s discontinuing this formula to give way to a new formula: Dior Addict Lacquer Stick.

What Is It?

The new Dior Addict Lacquer Stick is a new hybrid, half lacquer and half lipstick, revolutionizes colour, transforming it into lacquered, yet so easy to wear shine.

The Dior Addict Lacquer Stick is the answer to uncomfortable and sticky lacquers that we all hate. The new lacquer stick has the intense color colour, smooth texture and shine of a lacquer and promises up to 6 hours of comfortable wear. A single sweep reveals an almost liquid shine and saturated color. The formula is so beautiful, it glides on the lips upon application.

Unique Colors

The entire collection has a total of 18 shades and is divided 4 themes of colors inspired by L.A’s emblematic spots and the light of the West Coast: Pastel, Neon, Classic and Wild,

Four It-shades set the tone for this collection: Tease, Turn Me Dior (worn by Jennifer Lawrence in the campaign images), Diablo, and Sauvage.

I personally picked out tease from the pastel line and indie rose from the classic line because these days I prefer buying shades that I know I’ll be able to wear regularly! I love both shades but I also like mixing both! ;)

Tips!
I’m obsessed with Dior’s Lipglow. I currently have two shades (pink and coral). Wear the pink lipglow under any lipstick from the pastel line, coral under any shade from the classic line! If you have the lilac and berry shades, you can wear these under the neon palette and the wild palette respectively.

Final Thoughts:

Although I’m still so sad Dior’s discontinuing my favorite fluidsticks, the new Lacquer Sticks are a great new alternative. Personally, the formula isn’t so groundbreaking because many other brands have released their version of this hybrid. BUT the shades are so well thought of (everyone is bound to find their perfect shade), and they really feel luxurious on the lips. I find myself reaching for my two shades (tease and indie rose) very often!
